The Bee Sting.

So, I feel the need to let everyone know that I was stung by a bee. Who gets stung by a bee anymore? I haven't heard of this since I was like 7. But anyways, there I was, floating in the pool, minding my own business. I had Glamour in my left hand, catching up on a little reading, and a perfect strawberry daiquiri in my right hand. It was nearly perfect, when all of a sudden a bee decided my daiquiri also looked mighty tasty. That bee must have gotten confused, because I don't think he ever got any of the daiquiri, but he sure did sting the heck out of my arm. I looked down just in time to see that little meanie fly away, my arm throbbing in pain. I told all the girls what had just happened, but no one seemed too concerned. Well ladies...look who now has spent the entire day with benadryl and a band aid on her arm. Me. It has been Miz. It is itching like crazy. Note to self girls-drink your daiquiris fast as not to attract these little devils!

Best.Stuff.EVER.

This is my absolute favorite facial product ever. It is the Mary Kay microdermabrasion 2 step combo. I use it every Sunday. It makes my skin so incredibly soft! You all have got to get some. The first step has these teeney tiny crystals that exfoliate all of dead skin cells away, and then the second step is this fantastic serum that feels AMAZING. I swear, my face feels like a baby's right now. It is a great way to prep for the week and rejuvenate on Sundays!

Sidenote- is anyone watching Kendra's (from Girls Next Door) new show on E right now? She is ridiculous. She just installed a stripper pole in her kitchen. She's just not right. I did however just catch a glimpse of sweet Bridget Marquardt on the show attending Kendra's housewarming party. I love Bridget, she is so darn cute. The BFF's and I were the Girls Next Door for Halloween a couple years ago, it was hysterical.

Anyways, hope everyone has a fantastic week!

My Sweet Baby Sis- All Grown Up!

I cannot believe that my sweet baby sister is graduating high school today! Y'all know how close I am with my wonderful sisters, and to think that my little baby is graduating is just unbelievable! For those of you who don't know, my sisters are fabulous. Becky is 21 and Hannah is barely 18. We have so much fun when we are all together, and I feel so blessed to have been given such amazing girls (young women!) as sisters. The bond that we share is so special.

I remember when Hannah came home from the hospital, no seriously, I totally remember every minute of it because I thought she was my toy to play with. My baby obsession set in early in life and I was all over the new baby that Mom and Dad brought home. I even gave her my blankie to sleep with (BIG deal for me). She was the cutest little baby, she had these massive curls and was often mistaken for Michelle from Full House. No joke, more than once. Anyway, I am just so proud of her. She is beautiful, talented, ambitious, selfless, super smart, and super sweet. She is president of like every club at her school, was a Governor's scholar last summer, was Homecoming Queen, and she is a phenomenal dancer. She is starting Transy in the fall and I am so excited for her! I'm sorry, but I just had to brag on my little sis for a minute, she tells me all the time I am going to drive my kids crazy one day. And she is probably right ; ). Here are a few pics of my precious little sis.

Hannah taking Sadie Belle for a dip...Sadie worships Hannah and apparently decided to follow her everywhere, including the pool.

Beck and Han being goofy, 99% of the pics of Han look just like this.

Han and her BFF Kasey. I LOVE Kasey, she is my adoptive little sis. She is such a little gem.

Channeling Baby Spice I think... Funny because I was also Baby Spice for Halloween MANY years ago. ; )

At one of her prom's this year. She looked beautiful!!

Thinking about sweet Hannah growing up and starting college makes me think about when I started UK years and years ago, and all of the priceless memories, and priceless friendships I formed throughout those amazing 4 (or-41/2) years. I wish for Hannah all the fun and happy times I had and more. I pray that she finds amazing girls like I did that will be there with her through all nighter's, pizza at 3 am, incognito sorority house toilet paper-ing, sorority formals, breakup's, first jobs, weddings, babies and all of life's changes. I pray that she stays true to herself while finding out who she is and what she wants in life. Hannah, you are so special, never forget that! I am so proud that you are my sister, and I cannot wait to watch the turns that your life takes. I love you!

And like my Grandfather told my Mother when he left her at Centre College..."Have fun, and get an education. In that order." true words ; )

Hairspray: My Greatest Asset

It is no secret that I love big hair. It is also no secret that I am challenged in the “big hair” department. I have the hair of a 5 year old girl, no seriously, most of you that know me understand this is true. It is fine, thin, and does CRAZY things when I sleep on it. It is pretty much something I have come to terms with. Anyhoo, while I long for locks like Carrie Underwood, It’s never going to happen. (hence why I love playing with my JSimpson hair extensions.) My only hope is some pink rollers (not the Velcro ones but the plastic kind) my tool, a lot of teasing, and some really good hairspray- which leads me to the point of this discussion-hairspray. I have recently been addicted to Big Sexy Hair Play and Spray Harder-which is fabulous for my short blond bob. I am telling you what- not a hair moves which I love. Probably not the best hairspray for say Maureen’s long curls, but perfect for us short haired gals who are not so concerned with moveability (is this a word?). But I have been thinking about trying this new hairspray that I found while babysitting a few weeks ago (thanks Billie Jo!) It is Shu Uemura-Sheer Lacquer Micro Fine Finishing Spray. I tried it when I was putting the girls’ hair up in piggie tails, and I absolutely loved it! It smells fantastic, and it’s super fine delivery means that even the babiest of hairs are not moving when you apply! I have been meaning to stop and get some, but have not had time recently. Has anyone tried it before? Just wanted to share my new find with you lovelies! Have a great Thursday!

"Here's how I see it. It took all I've been through to make me who I am today and to teach me what I know. I choose to be better, not bitter. I trust the faithfulness of God more than ever. If faith doesn't move the mountain, it will give me strength to endure until tomorrow. And if it's not gone by tomorrow, I'll still believe that Gos is able, and trust Him until He acts."

Sometimes we all need a little pick me up : )

A Wonderful Wedding Weekend!

As you all know, we traveled to Mississippi for Molly's wedding this past weekend. The plan was originally to leave around 5 am on Friday morning, and get into Oxford around 2 or 3. Well-the five of us that were planning on leaving together ended up staying up until around 1 am, thought to ourselves "Why not leave now and get there at 9am and lay out all day at the pool?". Genius. We literally packed everything in the car and drove to Oxford. Sara and Maureen drove. Leah slept. Chrissy and I co-piloted (that is until i started getting delirious and had to take a two hour siesta.) Somehow we made it there, no thanks to the Garmin trying to get us lost, and had a wonderful day sunning at the pool. It was so great to catch up with all my sisters that I had not seen in awhile. It is such a great feeling knowing that no matter where each of us are in the world, when we get together it's as if no time has passed at all. I am so proud of each one of my girlfriends and so very blessed and LUCKY to have each one of you.

On to the wedding details. Molly was the most beautiful bride! The weather was perfect, the dress was perfect, the location was unbelievable, and I have never seen Molly more happy in my entire life. She looked absolutely stunning. Molly and Griffin truly were made for each other! I am so happy that wonderful Griffin found my dear friend Molly! Love you both! The wedding was at this gorgeous horse farm (love the touch of Kentucky!) in an outdoor chapel, and the reception was held outdoors around the pool and guest house (absolutely breathtaking). It could not have been more picture perfect. Here are a few pics from the weekend!

Many more weddings this summer to come, followed by a VERY deserved family vacay the last week of July. Cannot wait!
