Sometimes life is HARD.

I was working on a vlog earlier, when my little breakdown ensued, hence this pic. This is me, raw, and exposed. My life is far from perfect, and sometimes I just gotta talk about the tough stuff.

I know sometimes I talk a lot of "fluff". Makeup, poofs, weaves, what Carrie ate for lunch etc., but I also really, really like to be honest, and real on my blog. This is my diary. My twenties. And I love that i will be able to look back one day at how far I have come. I don't know WHAT i am gonna do when I turn 30... I guess a blog name change will be in order?

I started thinking today about why I started blogging. I don't know if you have read through my past posts or not, but it's been an interesting wave of ups and downs, triumphs and heartaches. I started blogging because I was going through some awful, hard, REAL things- and I felt completely alone. Alone in the sense that I felt like I was the only one that had ever experienced ending an engagement.

NOT. and that is when i met you all, and your support has been unreal. So thank you. Thank you for letting me know I am not alone in this.

I still have hard days. Today was a hard day. Yesterday was a hard day. Traci called me tonight and we talked for awhile. I cried my eyes out, because my little heart just hurts. It is hard, the "not knowing" part. Not knowing where your life is going, not knowing what your plan is, still loving someone through everything, and all that you have both been through. This is year 6. Year six that Reed has been in my life. And at the end of the day I know we are always there for each other. But I can't understand why neither one of us can completely let go. At the end of the day I always still hold on to something, and that is him. Even when it is apparent that it is just not right, and we can never get it together at the same time.

I know God's plan for me is so much better than I could ever imagine. And that is what I am holding on to.

I know I am probably not making any sense right now. But I just needed to write some things down. So anyways, check that off my list, HA.

Rachel wrote an awesome post today about being 20 something, single and FAB. It made me smile. I do love my life, for all the reasons she listed and so many more, but sometimes it is just hard.

On a lighter note, this is hysterical. My babies innocence is just so, so precious. I just want to wrap them up and protect them from any and all heartache that may ever come their way. As you can imagine when I ended my engagement, the babies were confused. They still ask about it, about Reed, about my ring (ha!) and about my wedding. The other night I was putting Laurel to bed, after we had said our prayers she looked up at me and this convo took place:

Laurel: "Allie, when are you gonna get engaged again"

Me: "Ha, well I don't know Laurel...why?"

Laurel: "Well, let's hope it is soon, i mean you aren't getting any younger"

*crickets*

Laurel: "I mean there has gotta be one guy out there that will marry you, so you can live happily ever after."

I lost it. I just died laughing. Sweet, sweet baby girl.

So tonight this happened. Enjoy. Gotta love her honesty.

Anyways, sorry for the pity party. I feel better now, got ma Santa Margherita on and a little Grey's Anatomy. Life is good.

Friday Updates

So this is funny. I got to work this morning and immediately had two 'hey tell's' from girlfriends stating "Al, I just heard on the radio Carrie's publicist said she is NOT pregnant, and that some Internet buzz had been going on". Ha. oopsies. And check this article here. My favorite line? "It looks like an excited fan got a little keyboard happy and published these rumors". BAHAHAHA. oops.

OK in all seriousness I know this article was not referring to ME, but you never know... Carrie does know my blog address ;) Only because I pasted it ALL over the gift that I gave her. hehe.

Moving on, I recently decided that it is time to cut the crap and get in shape. I have been a good girl ALL week in regards eating and working out, and gosh darn it I am going to keep it up! I am only eating natural foods (very few packaged things) and keeping the cal count low. My goal is to work out 3-4 times a week, and only drink ONE diet coke a day. So far, so GOOD! My goal is 1-2 pounds a week, which is pretty standard and healthy right? I use to always do weight watchers and LOVE it, but decided to give this little plan of mine a go. We will see ;)

SO to keep me motivated, I have chosen a few things I will be purchasing myself when I get to my goal weight. Drum roll please...

The items I am currently LUSTING over, but are NOT allowed to buy until I reach my goal are:

This lust-worthy pair of Hudson jeans. I have been eyeing them for some time now, but decided what better motivation than for these beauts to me be my reward ?!

And secondly, I am wanting ALL three of these bathing suits. Isn't Vickies the best? I have wanted the third suit for awhile, and actually promised it to myself last spring, HA, but never ordered it.

Anyways, I am outta here chics! This weekend I plan to tend to my injured eye (corneal abrasion, whole nother story that would just bore you), go shop shop at Sephora for ALL of your rec's from the other day, and then the week of being a single mommy commences on Sunday. I have my babies all week, overnight, every night. Things should be interesting ;)

Carrie talk... yet again.

First off. I love this dress. She looks absolutely stunning. 

Hmm… So recently we have been debating weather our girl Carrie is expecting. Remember the Golden Globe's we chatted about here? Well I got an email from sweet little Maggie, and then another one from Brittany asking if I had heard the latest Carrie buzz, which I hadn't yet, so I quickly researched. So check this… The always reliable Star magazine is apparently reporting that Carrie is two months preggers! (right along with our speculations girls) which means that if this is true, she was totally preggo when I met her! I kinda met Carrie's baby. Hahaha. But in all seriousness, how awesome would this be. I bet it's a girl. Because Carrie just needs a little gorgeous mini songstress to tote around. And come to think of it, I think she needs a baller nanny named LouLou to come help her out! All I can say is that is one.lucky.baby. However, there is also a good chance she is not preggo. I mean she has said time and time again they are NOT jumping into a babe. They want to do the whole married thing first, which I am TOTALLY an advocate for. Being neither married, or pregnant, ha. 

Anyways, since we are talking Carrie and wedding (and baby) have you all ever seen her ring up close? Well, this chic has seen it in person. This is the part of the 'meeting Carrie experience' when I went completely silent for 30 seconds while she was signing my stuff, and I became mesmerized with her left hand. Holy moly y'all. After she finished signing, she looked up at me and all I could do was just smile. No speaking. Like a dumbass. Well anyways here is a pic I found of her ring up close and personal. 

BAM. There it is. 

It's amazing. Not my style, but amazing. I like dainty dainty bands and just a big ole solitaire! If you remember from here… I had one just like that. Tear. OK No memory lane today! Ha. 

Anyways. I guess we will see!! OH I forgot to tell you ladies yesterday when we were talking makeup, but I have found the most ultimate youtube little mix to put your makeup on to! And here it is. Back to Back Carrie favorites. You are welcome.

That is right my little LouLou's its time to chat about makeup, yet again. I have had several questions recently about what skin care/ makeup products I use. So here goes nothing! Hopefully you will find something helpful, and in turn I have some questions for you beauties!

I swear by the Mary Kay skin care line. I have used it for probably almost 3 or 4 years now. luckily I am blessed with pretty normal, low maintenance skin, so I am not sure how this stacks up with more specific skin issues. Don't ask me to sell the stuff, but darn it I will buy it from you. My favorite? The microdermabrasion kit. Its heavenly. For reals. 

After I do my little daily regimen, I start with Too Faced Primed and Poreless primer. It's soo silky and I really feel like it helps my makeup stay put. I mean this chic works long days... and I can't be having half ass my makeup by happy hour. 

I typically wear foundation every day. I honestly, probably don't need to-but I feel so pale in the winter months that I deem it absolutely necessary. Plus it just gives me such an even base. In the summer I will forgo the foundation, because it gets like 500 degrees and humid in Kentucky, and point blank sucks for a gal's makeup.

This is my FAVORITE foundation. It is light, but so so even. Beige 400

Next, I use Mac Studio Fix pressed powder. Takes me back to high school prom's for some reason, but this stuff is legit. I wear it a lot of times without the foundation, because it is that good. I promise, you will love.

Insert chorus of angels. This next item is literally my favorite makeup product. NARS blush. in super orgasm. My friend Ashley got me hooked on it a few years ago and I haven't looked back since.  

Yep, you know you want it toooo! It is the perfect color, such a natural flush, with a hint of sparkle sparkle.

I always always use an eye primer. This just happens to be the one I have, I like it but I honestly haven't tried any others, so you may have a suggestion for me. I just must use an eye primer, if I don't I feel like my eye makeup is gone by lunch.

I love naked lunch, by MAC as a neutral, all over, base color. It's fantastic.

This next eye shadow is a recent find of mine, whilst I was perusing the Walgreens isles during a Kendall Jackson Chardonnay stop. I was looking for a high pigment eye shadow like my sis has. Hers always stays on so well, and I like the richness of the color. Low and behold I found this little baby.

in Shady. (where my shady ladies at!) ;) you know who you are!

After I use all three of the above colors, I dust on some sparkle shine! I got a ton of these MAC loose pigments sometime this year. They are great because you can use them for anything, anywhere you want some shine and pizzaz! I use as a highlighter mainly.

I have used Mac eyeliner in Teddy for years, but I am completely open to suggestions. I am just kinda so so about it. But I want an eyeliner that I love as much as my NARS blush! My sis does her eyeliner with a brush and a high pigment powder, and it looks awesome, but I just don't have that time and patience for an everyday look. 

Suggestions? Go.

I've told y'all about this stuff before, its my favorite. Loreal Beauty Tubes Mascara in blackest black. I have thiiiin leeeetle eyelashes and this stuff is magical. You might not like it though, it takes some getting use to. But I have mastered the wand. 

Final step, lip gloss! I love these Too Faced "Comfort Plump" lip glosses. they have some tingle plumping agents but not like WOW my mouth is on fire.

However- sometimes I LIKE the wow my mouth is on fire look. In which case I turn to Vickie, the queen of sexy. This lip plumper is tha bomb. Loves it. Chrissy and I discovered it years ago during a Christmas sale I believe.
