Group MMS: emoticon impersonations.

I am talking to you, iphone users.

Surely you group text with your friends, yes? Well we have a little group of my best girlfriends that constantly group text each other all day long. Mostly about our whereabouts, what we ate for lunch, how many days until the weekend, just actually WHAT time WILL we arrive at Two Keys for the game Saturday, you know the important things.

Well yesterday, I was bored whilst being abused at the allergist… exhibit A:

Eww, that was kinda nasty, sorry about that.

But anyway, so I decided to amuse not only myself,  but my group mms girlfriends as well by trying to imitate some of my favorite iphone emoticons.

Because that is absolutely normal right? Well this guy is one of my favorites... I think you all know who I am talking about...

I immediately got this back from Leah... and the game of 'guess which emoticon I am' began.

Emily...

Dana...

Ellen...

Ellen AND Dana...

Brooke...

Jami...

Moi again...

Aaaaand maybe again this morning.

This girl is definitely my favorite. She says so many things, like 'stop it' or 'don't even' and the occasional  'I can't'...

I promise you my friends are normal, see:

Who am I kidding? We a'int normal. Not in the slightest.

You might remember Jami, from Dana's wedding when she got attacked by a bat here!
Or Brooke for teaching us how to make pimp cups here!
Or Leah from her college shenanigans here!
Or Dana from her cray cray bachey party here!
Or Emily from our Blonde and Blue trip here!
or Ellen, from this bittersweet post here!

I love all you girls, and thanks for making my days extra hilar. Hope everyone enjoyed our emoticon impersonations as much as I did, because I am still laughing.

And if you don't have an iphone, or emoticons... well, I can't help ya. ;)

UK polka dots!

In case you were unaware, basketball pandemonium has spread across the bluegrass. UK is playing U of L this Saturday in the Final Four, and it's pretty nuts in the KY. If you need more info on this long standing rivalry, consult google, I'm not even going there.

If you actually know me, this is hilarious that I even care, but I have been struck by this blue mental illness (right Jess?!) and have embraced the spirit. I always play the part of the fan well, but that is just because I am a social butterfly, but I am actually not doing too badly in our office bracket thingy. See look, that would be me in 10th place :)

I could have done worse, right?

So in true Wildcat spirit I even polished my nails in support.

It was surprisingly easy to accomplish, only took about 20 minutes.

I gathered my supplies...

1. OPI Blue My Mind
2. Essie Marshmallow
3. Bobby pin

I did three coats of blue, then used the end of a bobby pin (the little dot end) to make the dots. I poured a little bit of white polish on some paper, and found it easier to dip the bobby in that way.

Then I topped with a clear coat. Easy-peasy, GO CATS. ;)

KiKi La'Rue

Have you all shopped at KiKi La'Rue?

Because you should. I got KiKi La'Rue'd this weekend and wore the precious little Audrey dress to my sissy's boyfriends birthday in Louisville.

I got TONS of compliments on it. It is a pretty adorable little number if I must say so myself. It is super lacy and feminine, but also has the fun exposed zipper in the back.

And because KiKi La'Rue is so amaze, they have offered to let me give away some KKLR cash!

And sign up for an account on KiKi La'Rue here! (this is necessary to get your store credit!)

Was this the longest week ever?

Answer, YES.

But, girls, the kitty cats play tonight woop woop! GO CATS.

Something happens in March... everyone goes NUTS about these little basketball games. But hey, it means lots of friends and lots of happy hours. So clearly, I am pro March madness.

I picked up this precious little plaid shirt at Banana Republic, thought it was perfect for CATS games. I'm wearing it with skinnies and these hot shoes from...wait for it... Target!

It may have also reminded me of this shirt...

Whatever. We all know I am a little cray.

GUILTY!

As far as the hair goes today, it is dirty, because it is unwashed. I found it uber difficult to get out of bed this morning. WOOPS.

Simple messy bun and swoop.

It is really easy to create this look girls.

1.Tease and poof top.
2. Ponytail.
3. Pin up ponytail with bobby pins to cover ponytail holder.
4. Curl some of the front pieces away from your face, and let them go where they want to, spraying in place where you think they fit.
5. Spray spray.
6. Run out door with diet coke in hand and still make it to work on time ;)

One more thing before I leave you on this Friday, please say prayers for a fellow Kentucky girl battling cervical cancer. Article is here. We JUST talked about this the other day girls. Meganne Campbell is showing extreme faith through this whole ordeal, and my heart goes out to her and her family. Let's lift Meganne up in our prayers, and pray for her comfort and for God's will. You can read more, and send prayers on Team Meg on Facebook!

So guess what...

Sis got a call from the Family Feud producers last night.
Guess who is flying away for show taping in a month?

Yup. I am serious. This crew.

{me, lil sis, baby sis, my hottie cousin Lucy and my momma!}

And yes, we sent this pic to the family feud folks sayin' "look out, we come to party"

I am already FREEEEEAKING out about being on camera. WHAT will I wear? WHY must they film in HD?? I never really thought this would actually be happening!

If there is anything I need to know about being on camera, help a sister out.

There is a high probability this experience will end in a ridiculous youtube video being passed around the internet-I feel fairly certain...

More deets to come. Must research "how to look good on tv"

Daily dose of PLL

Ok first of all, can we discuss the following?

Yes that would be MOI showing up in a Carrie Underwood google search. Thank you to my girl DON for showing me. I of course, was on cloud 9.

Next order of business.

Lowlights. I haz em.

I mean yes, it is still very blonde, BUT I have gotten more and more lowlights these past two times, and I can really tell! Good job Brittney, you are the best hairdresser EVA. I think it has been helping my fine baby hairs.

AND, in a proactive attempt to save you all the hassle of asking where I got that adorable little lacey top in the pic above, let me tell you.

I purchased this little baby from Ruche

And I am wearing it with skinnies and my Louboutin's. Now the earrings in the pic? You are on your own, but I want to say Forever 21.

So spring is clearly upon us, and I have been wearing dresses. I was straight up frightened at the paleness of my legs in the mirror the first day, so I borrowed the roomies Lancome, flash bronzer, and I am kinda obsessed. It is a gel substance, and it goes on super smoothly. It has made my lack of sunlight a tad more bearable.

I think it is helping, right?

The only downfall is my work bestie came in the office and asked "did someone get spray tanned at lunch, it smells like a spray tan?"

Hmm. pretty sure that is me...

Suggestions on ones that smell a little less obvious? I know you girls have them.

And last but certainly not least, I will leave you with this pic. The babes were in Disney this past weekend, and it appears they got princess makeovers.

Try and tell me this is not the cutest thing you have ever seen.

I.love.them.

Cause the Movement

Pages from CTM-posters

Hey girls!

I know we talk about a lot of fun stuff here at PinkLouLou, however sometimes we gotta change up the scene and talk about something serious!

And that is what we are doing today.

I got an email about a month ago from a sweet girl at UK (woop woop go CATS!) named Taylor asking for my help! Now bless her heart I know she thinks I forgot about her, but I sure did not! Just took me awhile ;)

Anyhoo, Taylor is working on Cervical Cancer Free Kentucky’s “Cause the Movement” initiative, aimed at educating Kentucky women (and really women everywhere!) about cervical cancer, prevention, and treatment.

This is an issue that is very close to my heart, as I have many loved friends who have dealt with this!

A few facts here friends:

1. Kentucky has the 8th highest rate of cervical cancer! EEEK!

2. Today, there is only one anti-cancer vaccine available. This vaccine prevents more than 90 percent of a kind of cancer that has killed hundreds of Kentucky women in the last decade. A kind of cancer that kills 10 women each day in the United States. A kind of cancer that is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide.

3. The primary cause of cervical cancer is the HPV virus, which infects 20 million Americans, according to the National Institutes for Health. NIH estimates that another six million Americans are infected with HPV each year.

4. Now this part is astonishing, 1/5 of Kentucky women 18 and older have not had a Pap test in the last three years and fewer than one in NINE have received the full three-shot HPV vaccine series!!

WHAT?!? That shocks me people, this is preventative!!

We can dramatically reduce the overall incidence of HPV and cervical cancer in our population in 3 steps:

1. Educating ourselves about cervical cancer, prevention, and treatment;

2. Increasing the number of women who get cervical cancer prevention screenings, and who seek follow up treatment and/or testing when screening yield abnormal results; and

3. Encouraging both females ages 9-26, and males ages 11-26, to get the HPV vaccine series, as recommended by the CDC.

So basically Cervical Cancer Free Kentucky program launched the campaign Cervical Cancer Free Kentucky, to make progress on these goals.

I encourage you all, my beloved friends, family (and precious blog friends I have never met!) to visit  and like their Facebook page to spread the word! The majority of women who die from cervical cancer either failed to get Pap tests or they got them too infrequently. Every Kentucky girl could be cervical cancer-worry free if she gets vaccinated, has regular Pap tests and gets appropriate follow up care for abnormal results!

Ladies, this is SO SO important! I felt super compelled to just help get the word out there. I got these vaccines years ago in college I suppose, whenever they came out! If I can influence even one girl about ANYTHING, this would be it! Not about what foundation to wear, or how to attain the perfectly styled poof (while these are important!), but how to keep yourself safe, and cancer free!

Thanks for reading girls, and make sure you share with your sisters, friends, co- workers, all the loved women in your life!

Sephora, St. Patty's Day, and GO CATS!

Top o the morning to ya.

So weekend recap: prior to celebrating St. Patty's day, and of course the CATS win, I stopped in Sephora for a much needed Saturday morning date.

That store is like crack. I needed a bunch of the standard essentials, and came out with the following.

1. Buxom lipgloss, in bunny. LOVE.
2. Makeup Forever Mat Velvet #30
3. Makeup Forever Duo Matte powder #202
4. Nars Orgasm blush
5. Sephora Natural Round Powder brush (highly recommend!)
6. Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion

All and all a good trip. I feel so much better when I have all of my products, I had been out of a lot of things, and it wasn't pretty.

So can we talk about something?

Green beer.

I don't get it.

Everywhere I went Saturday people tried to give me green beer. DISLIKE.

Why does it weird me out so much? I have no idea, but I can't stand it. It looks like swamp water. Luckily I made friends with the bartender and found some secret non green beer.

I had so much fun with all the girls, and of course sissy and boyfriend!

It was one of those weekends where I really really appreciated being a twenty something with no babies. Ha ha ;)

xoxo miss you girls, we need a catch up Vlog very soon...
