my new favorite boy band.

OK. Now stop the world, but this is hilarious.

Follow me here:

Four med students at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, were assigned a class project to present an anti-smoking campaign, and this is what their genius little minds came up with.

An anti-smoking boy band. BOOM.

Fellow bloggess Michelle sent me their story, and their video (I think she had a feeling I would have a crush on one or all of these guys, HA.) and I laughed out loud.

Now I have never smoked a cigarette in my life (pats own shoulder), I just think it is foul. So I am all for spreading the word on not smoking!

Anyways, Michelle got involved with this project when she was asked to take pictures for their video. She did such an awesome job.

I give you... Boy Bandemia. And their debut album Extinguished.

{back off ladies, the sultry eyed feller on the right is mine}

My personal favorites from the album?
"I won't hit it, till you quit it", and  "alright, who lit one".

Shut up. I mean look at these pics...

I am rolling.

Oh hey there... what's that?
You wanna know how to become Mr. PinkLouLou? ;)

(all photos from Michelle Messer Photography)

Now obviously these guys are WAY too much fun. I am kinda jealous that I can't hang out with them on the reg since they live in NC. Some of these cuties are married with kids (insert awwww) :)

Do yourself a favor and take an afternoon break to watch their video. They did an awesome job. Whoever did the editing {high five} I have a special place for you in my heart, as I am also... a computer nerd.
woop woop!

Let's get these kids on Ellen, then maybe they will come out with a video for "Girl Put That Butt Out"... and
sir-steamy-eyes-adjusting-his-tie will take his shirt off.

I'm just sayin'... ;)

{ps all their names and stuff are medical terms, oh what clever guys ;)}

I love it. Absolutely love it!

messy, twisted updo

Hey girls!

I didn't get this up for you Friday, WOOPS! ;) But TODAY I will show you how I did this look for Brooke:

I also forgot to take pics initially {put me in time out) but I tried to explain it well below.

Here we go...

I promise I am trying to get better at these tutorials, bear with me, we'll get there haha. I also forgot to mention, I clearly sprayed the front pieces once I got them into place. So...do that.

Let me know if you have any questions, working on a few more for you all, including just a 'poof' one by popular request!

side braid, into messy bun tutorial :)

Last night I bribed my Emily friend into coming over to play hair and makeup at my casa and watch trash tv.

I love my friends :)

So I said to myself, "PLL- you wizard with a bobby pin you- why don't you take pics for your bloggy friends?"

So I did :)

I rock this look ALL the time, and it is simple...swear! This is different than the one I showed you here, which is coming (I just need to edit that film for you guys) but it is actually very similar in technique.

Alrighty... here goes!

Here is what you will need:
teasing comb, bobby pins, hair rubber band, and of course, le tresemme hairspray.

email me if you need help or have any questions!

psst....

PREVIEW for tomorrow's post! {Brooke came over too!!}

OH and sidenote: I have been told by two people you can't pin my stuff from my blog anymore... SAD!! Does anyone know how to fix this? It be messin' with my social networking GAME

e.l.f.

Alright chics. I feel like I am channeling my inner Bargain Blonde here. Girlfriend tried to tell me about this hypershine lipgloss months ago, but I was stupid and still buying $25 glosses.

Here is the thing, I am a sucker for name brand makeup. Sephora is my playground. However, I am a single gal on a budget, ahem, so I also appreciate a bargain.

There are certain things I don't mind spending the extra dollars on, like foundation, powder, great eyeshadow palettes etc. But I have found that you really don't need to buy the "it" brand of everything to look super fabulous! I absolutely love these elf products from Target. I have tried some elf stuff that I don't care for, but these items, are must haves.

1. elf eye makeup remover pen. Umm genius. I always get mascara all over myself, so I just carry this lil guy with me and erase my mistakes. $3.

2. elf cream eyeliner pot. I use my own brush, just because the one that comes with this stuff is so small. But I love the control I get with this cream eyeliner. And it stays. $3

3. elf eyebrow lift and fill. I love this guy, it is two sided to highlight under your brow, and fill in where you need it. It also conveniently has a sharpener in the lid! $3

4. elf hypershine lip gloss. my FAVORITE. great consistency, great colors, and tastes smalls like a cupcake. ONE DOLLAR. ;) I may have ordered every color, but my favorite is blossom. It is the perfect everyday pink.

5. elf eye makeup remover wipes. I have tried ALL of them out there, and these are my favorite. They remove makeup the easiest, so I don't have to pull on my delicate skin. ;) These are a MUST ladies, do NOT let me catch you sleeping in your makeup. HELLOOO I read somewhere that ages you 7 days people! $3

So next time you are perusing Tarjay, grab these things and thank me later. Happy elf makeup-ing ladies!

A Blonde Walks Into a Blog...

One of the first girls I met blogging was Juliana. We bonded over our shared Carrie Underwood enthusiasm. ;) I remember her being so sweet, kind and genuine. I think I squealed when I saw that she put me on her blog roll on the side of her page, because I totally looked up to her and her fabulous blog.

I have been thinking about her a lot recently. If you don't know her story, it is pretty unreal. Of course I'm not going to get all the details right here, but about 2 years ago she got sick, and has continued to fight daily for her life. I believe she is suffering from lyme disease, which from what I have read is just awful. I was lying awake in bed last night after reading some of her status updates, and I just teared up. I can't imagine what she has gone through. What she continues to go through. She is a mommy to a precious little boy Johnny. She never thought in a million years this is how her life would go. These are not the plans she had. She just wants her life back. She has been in constant treatment, and bed ridden for two years. TWO YEARS. Throughout it all what amazes me the most is her spirit. She is so incredibly sweet, and remains so hopeful even when she literally has no energy to do so. She completely amazes me. Just keep swimming is her motto. I pray for this sweet girl and her family every night.

I just wanted to share a few of the things she has posted on her facebook recently. They have just brought me to tears, and I have just been so called to share her story.

I am just so touched by this family. This woman. Her strength and her love for her family. Please lift this beautiful girl up in your prayers. She needs to get better. She wants to raise that precious baby. I know she is not always able to respond right away, but you can reach her via her blog, or twitter. :)

I know she'll feel the prayers.
