Why do I love my sis?

Because she is hilarious.

We grab lunch together once a week now that she has started her new job close to me, and today she made me spit out my diet coke I laughed so hard.

She works in commercial real estate, and while she was looking at a large, older property downtown with a client, the following happened.

Client  "yeah, we knew we were gonna have a lot of problems and renovation with it…. I mean first day we moved everything in to the top floor, and the next morning we came in and everything was in the basement…"

Becky: "Ooooohhhh, it's hauuuuunted? (wide eyed, and SERIOUS)

Client: "Nnnnno….the ceiling fell through..."

I.DIED.

 Sis's first thought was "oh, surely it's haunted, the ghosts must have moved everything to the basement"

BAHAHAHAHAHA I love you sissy. I am sure he thought you were quite charming.

But seriously, how cute is my Lil' Lou? She and Matt just bought their first house. Before she made it there after closing, he snuck in and left roses, and champagne in the fridge to celebrate.

Luckily, I was there to snap pics. AWWWWW ;)

Precious babies.

thought you all would enjoy her blonde moment at Barbie Real Estate. ;) I sure did.

Blown Away with Carrie!

Sorry about being MIA, life has been a leeeeeetle crazy recently. Lots going on that is for sure!

Let me just say that Miss Carrie Underwood was amazing, and I couldn't have had a better time!

{shirt Forever 21, necklace-I have no idea! I borrowed it from my friend Brooke!}

I am sad I didn't get a better pic of my SHOES! haha. They were by far, my most favorite part.

We literally had third row seats thanks to this guy, and it was unbelievable!!

I was pretty much in a Carrie coma the entire time, just staring at every little detail. Cause that isn't creepy at all.

She looked at me a couple times and winked/waved, but I am pretty sure she was thinking "ooooh snap, there is that crazy girl that stalks me there is my bestie who gave me my most favorite Christmas ornament two years ago." HA. ;)

Oh hey there Carrie, what's that... you want to invite me over to the tour bus for cocktails post show?

umm... enough said. her legs are unreal. PS DON, I want these shoes, please find them for me. Thanks.

{clearly obsessed with my shoes}

You have to watch this, it was so cute. This kid was holding up a sign that said "Carrie be my first kiss" so she called him up on stage. Adorable. That kid is a pimp.

I'd say I am a pretty lucky girl, first to have met Carrie, and then to have seen her 3rd row, it was incredible. I feel like my life is complete. Haha. I am just pissed that I didn't think of the kiss me Carrie sign. Too much? hahaha. I kid I kid.

A little reminder we sometimes all need...

So last night I was watching the X-Factor (guilty pleasure-singing competitions) and corny or not, I may or may not have gotten teary at one of the stories they showed.

Just watch this. Yeah, it's 12 minutes… but it is so damn sweet. I was so so moved by all the emotion in this video, from Jillian, to Demi, and even Simon. AAAAND girl can sing.

REAL TALK: Bullying sucks. And mean girls exist.

The whole Queen Bee mentality totally blows my mind. Watching this last night really made me think a lot about bullying, in all forms. While I was fortunate enough to not be bullied in school, or by girls growing up, I have had my fair share of cyber bullying by the nasty mean girls of the blog world.

 Unfortunately they exist. If you don't know what I am talking about, or haven't had any runs-ins, then you're lucky, because it ain't pretty, and it isn't fun.

I try not to pay attention or to read the negative, because the good of the blog world far outweighs the bad. But we are all human, and it sucks seeing hurtful and untrue things written about you. It does, let's be honest. I would never in my LIFE think about being hateful to another person. Ever. Like ever.  I would actually be just the opposite, and extremely encouraging. I guess I may have my parents to thank, for bringing me up in a loving, tolerant, accepting home, and teaching me that it is never ok to foster hate.

Blogging takes thick skin.

 I have learned that there are always going to be people that don't like you, or that don't get you, and that is absolutely fine. We are ALL different. I love pugs and pink bows. I am quite often absolutely ridiculous, and girly to the extreme. I am unnaturally obsessed with Carrie Underwood, but I am never mean or hateful because someone may be different than me, and I am always myself. Be who you are dammit. ;)

I am 27, and I am confident enough in who I am to be ok putting myself out there. I couldn't imagine having blogs, and facebook, and twitter etc. if you were going through middle or high school. I shudder thinking about it.

If there is one thing I want to do with this blog, it is to inspire confidence in women. Being able to be yourself, and put it out there, even if it's scary sometimes, is what it is all about.  If I can help even one girl to have increased self-confidence in herself, then that is awesome.

Blog world or real world-whatever your struggles are-don't listen to the negative noise, tune it out and keep on keepin' on girlfriend. And in turn- if you are a mean girl, then cut the shit. Stop it. Grow up.  Even Regina George did it. ;)

NO ONE is perfect, we all have our struggles, and bullying is NOT ok.

Thank you to every single one of you who send me sweet messages and support this blog daily. Thank you to my amazing core group of girlfriends who make my life incredible beyond words, and thanks to my parents and sissies for shaping me into the woman that I am, pink and all ;)

PS I hadn't heard this song before, but here is the original. Love!

Oh and Jillian, you killed it girl!!!

How I make that money, honey!

Well I missed out on Lindsey's "how I make that money, honey" link up awhile back, but figured since I have gotten some questions recently, I would post for inquiring minds.

After Sadie and I graduated with a degree in Communication, I didn't really know where to begin, or what I wanted to do. I got a job nannying for a family in Lexington...

 with FIVE girls.

The babies were four months old when I started working for them, and were quite frankly, the most beautiful children I have ever seen. Still are ;)

{their momma, her hubs and me!}

I cannot tell you how much I love this family, they have been a HUGE part of my life for over six years. I still see them all the time :) (Click here for more posts on le babies)

About two years later a 'big girl' job came into my path and I decided it was time to take it, and use that ol degree. ;)

I now work for a magazine...

1. Get Real. I am clearly kidding, for starters I'm in Lexington, KY people, not exactly the fashion and entertainment capitol of the world... and 2. I am nowhere near stylish or trendy enough to work for the likes, HA! I am pretty damn good at finding out information though, so maybe I could work for People or InTouch? But that is a stretch.

Anyways, I am the Production Manager for a niche association, which produces a monthly magazine. I also handle the sales department's in house graphic design. I'm a big computer nerd at heart, so I like it.

In a nutshell I make sure the magazine production goes smoothly and according to schedule, I work with our printer daily, I organize all of our ads running for each month, and I design umpteen promos in between.

Plus I get to work (and go out!) with a bunch of young, fun people, like these kids.

{I have blogged about my office space here, and here}

Besides the 9-5, I also do freelance hair and makeup (but you already knew that!) and I babysit my girls when I can.

I tend to stay extremely busy with work, my side business, babysitting and my social life which seems to be ever filled with weddings, showers, tailgates or weekend getaways.

Oh yeah- and in my SPARE time, I am running this blog. Keeps me busy, but I love it and I wouldn't have it any other way!

I keep it all together by staying super organized with my Erin Condren planner (full review here.)

And to keep my sanity, I drink copious amounts of wine I like getting up early in the mornings and taking the dogs on a thirty minute walk or so, just to feel like I have time for myself before the craziness begins. It has actually become my favorite part of the day. Sadie's too.

You college girls out there that are graduating and have no idea what you want to do, just know it is ok. I had no clue either. I hopped around the country, jet setting & nannying for my fav girls for two years. and I LOVED it.

 It will all fall into place, and you'll be makin' that money, honey. ;)

Promise ;)

Arkansas Wedding Weekend!

While I think I spent a total of 28 hours in Arkansas, it was well worth the trip!

My cousin Matt got married this weekend, and in typical Davis family fashion, we had way too much fun.

Congrats to Matt and Becky. awwww

Every time I write that it weirds me out, since my sister Becky is also dating a Matt! Remember these fools?

They clearly don't know how to have a good time ;)

But anyway, the wedding was so sweet and so much fun. So happy for you Matt and Becky!!

After a little boating, Simply Flawless was called into action for a couple fabulous ladies!

And really, how cute is my momma?! She is such a tiny little lady!

 {My dress is Jessica Simpson, shoes are Fergalicious (I swear!) and earrings are from Chinatown in NYC. good luck.}

The highlight of my trip was meeting Miss Elise for the first time!! You remember Elise from here when my cousin Jessica had her at 25 weeks, and she weighed only 1 pound 4 ounces!! She is doing so well and is just a dollbaby! I wanted to pack her in my purse and take her home with me!!

Everyone loves a photo booth...

My night ended with wedding cake icing being shoved up my nose. The silver lining? Everything smelled fantastic for the entire next day.

{Lucy is gonna kill me for posting these}

And this one too...

Sorry cuz, you'll get over it ;)

Successful road trip. Love my family!!
